Startup in Sept 02 has gone flawlessly. Effluent performance is excellent and the FUZZY FILTRATION equipment flows at the following rate of ranging from 0 gpm/sq ft to 25 gpm/sq ft. Only one filter is on-line at the suggestion of the MODNR for performance testing.

The client wanted an easier to operate system as currently having traveling bridge filters. After 6 months of prototype filtration that managed most of the plant wastewater flow, the client elected to design around the FUZZY FILTER.
The decision proved to be a correct one. Design started and the plant has surpassed engineer's design criteria for effluent quality as listed in the table to the left.
Plant wide SCADA system monitors and operates each motor and controls when each is turned on/off. Dissolved Oxygen control allows for blower control and curently blowers operate approximately 5 hours per day and the other 19 hours per day the plant operates on 5 HP!! Excellent energy savings.

2 Year Prototype unit in operation.
This 18" unit managed all the flow to the plant for most of the day. Additional flow went to the a second traveling bridge filter remaining on-line.
Performance recorded matched the full scale unit operation. This allowed the design of the full scale unit with confidence.

Tour of WWTP provided an opportunity for city residents and officials to visit the wwtp.
Heavy rain precluded many residents from attending, however the Fuzzy Filter met expectations with filtration rate exceeding design rate of 30 gpm/sq ft.

Previous Traveling Bridge Filters became problematic after 10 years with loss of sand media, outdated controls, and increased wash water percentage of water throughput.
The Fuzzy Filter eliminated all the mechanical issues!!
